Georgina Syrgiannis Swim Marathon

Head Coach

Georgina Syrgiannis Swim Marathon Week - week of April 26th (subject to change):

The RODS Georgina Syrgiannis Swim Marathon is our annual community outreach event where we challenge our swimmers to swim as far as they can in 1 hour while raising money for Palliative Care, our member’s fundraising accounts, and for our club!

There are prizes for most money raised & most laps as well as group totals!

The fundraising breakdown for this event is as follows:

  • 65% of what you raise will go towards your fundraising commitment, so once your fundraising commitment is fulfilled, the remainder will go directly to your account
  • 25% to the RODS Swim Team
  • 10% to the Regina Hospitals Palliative Care Unit

The swim marathon is named in memory of Georgina Syrgiannis who was a vibrant, fun-loving member of our swim community and a RODS Board member.  She was also a successful marketing executive and an exemplary wife and mother.  She succumbed to cancer in 2015 at the age of 45.  Her final days were spent in the fine care of the Palliative Care Unit.  She is fondly remembered by all😊.

We encourage you to update your swimmer’s profile and use the RODS website tool to solicit donations via email or social media.  For a tutorial on how to do this, see below:.
