The University of Regina Cougars Swim Team is a committed and competitive varsity team that provides the opportunity for UofR athletes to reach their potential and pursue excellence. We offer programs for Sprint, Middle, Distance, Stroke, IM, and everything in-between. Practices are typically split, with multiple options of sets being offered to enable each swimmer to maximize their long-term adaptations. We have access to Long Course 4 times per week throughout the year, and in partnership with the RODS we offer a robust competition schedule through the summer to prepare swimmers for national-level success.

We have:

  • Full-time professional swim coaching (including our Head Coach and Full-Time Assistant)
  • Strength and conditioning coaches (in our private varsity-only gym)
  • A full athletic therapy center (physio, chiro, massage, AT, medicine)
  • Recovery room (ice baths, Normatec boots, hydrotherapy, etc.)
  • Training camps (previously locations such as Phoenix, Florida)
  • Robust provincial & athletic department support (scholarships)

and much more - our program is constantly evolving.

Each year, the team attends exciting varsity competitions, such as:
  • Home Dual Meet with the University of Manitoba Bisons (NEW FOR 2024/2025)
  • Odlum Brown Colleges Cup - Vancouver
  • Colleges Cup Mountain - Calgary (NEW FOR 2024/2025)
  • Canada West Swimming Championships
  • Away Dual Meet with the University of Manitoba Bisons (NEW for 2024/2025)
  • Last Chance U SPORTS Time Trial
  • U SPORTS Swimming Championships
  • and even our non-U SPORTS swimmers get to train and race until ManSask, the same weekend as U SPORTS!
We also routinely send swimmers to the following National events:
  • Olympic and Paralympic Swimming Trials
  • Mel Zajac Jr. International
  • Summer ManSask Championships
  • Canadian National Championships

Developing swimmers will also have a variety of club competitions in Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia.
